چکیده

We present a fast penetration depth estimation algorithm between deformable polyhedral objects. We assume the continuum of non-rigid models are discretized using standard techniques, such as finite element or finite difference methods. As the objects deform, the distance fields are deformed accordingly to estimate penetration depth, allowing enforcement of non-penetration constraints between two colliding elastic bodies. This approach can automatically handle self-penetration and inter-penetration in a uniform manner. We demonstrate its effectiveness on moderately complex simulation scenes.

Modeling of Fault Co-seismic Displacement Fields in Elastic Environments Based on Spherical Dislocation Theory

This research is based on the modeling of co-seismic deformations due to the fault movement in the elastic environments, and we can obtain the deformations generated in the faults. Here, modeling of the co-seismic displacement field is based on the analytical method with two spherical dislocation model and half-space dislocation model. The difference in displacement field from two spherical and...

Using Miniature Cone Penetration Test (Mini-CPT) to determine engineering properties of sandy soils

In-situ testing techniques have proven to be successful in improving the speed and reliability of geotechnical investigations. One of the most common in-situ methods in engineering geology and site investigation is Cone Penetration Test (CPT), which is mainly used for characterization of soils, as it is a robust, simple, fast, reliable and economic test that can provide continuous soundings of ...
